Here are 4 simple steps to get you started on improving your English at EnglishCentral.
Step 1: Improve Your English Listening Skills
The first thing you want to do is choose and watch a video. There are videos about travel topics, business English, academic themes, etc.
Each video includes a transcript of the text to help you understand what you are hearing much more easily.
If you hear a word that you don’t recognize, you can click on it to see its definition or view the translation of the word in your native language.
As you watch the video on EnglishCentral, add the words that you don’t know to your favorite list so you can study them later.
Step 2: Learn The Words To Increase Your English Vocabulary
Okay. So, once you finish watching the video, now it’s time to study the vocabulary words that you don’t know yet.
So, go to your favorite word list and study each one individually. You will see a list of videos that use that same word in a different context.
Don’t worry, you won’t have to watch the whole video, because it will only play the phrase that contains the exact word you are studying on EnglishCentral.
When you feel that you’ve studied the words sufficiently and know the new vocabulary you are learning, go ahead and take the quiz to test your knowledge.
If you pass the quiz, the words you have learned will be added to your list of newly learned words. Congratulations!
If you haven’t learned the vocabulary sufficiently and don’t pass the quiz, then the words will remain in your list of words to continue studying.
Step 3: Practice Your English In The Learning Mode
Great! Now, you can watch the video on EnglishCentralagain in the learning mode. This time the video will play once more.
However, this time there will be pauses with blanks where important words were heard previously.
Your mission, if you choose to accept it, will be to type in the missing words and phrases.
Step 4: Practice Your English Pronunciation
And finally, you can practice your pronunciation on EnglishCentral. Listen to each phrase of the video. You can follow along with the subtitles.
Then, you can record your voice as you read each of the phrases. Just hit the record button and then read the phrase. Try to imitate the sounds you hear as closely as you can.
Your voice will be analyzed, and you will receive a score based on how well you do.
So, there you go ya’ll! Take a look at EnglishCentral and watch some videos. Take advantage of the opportunity to improve your English listening skills, learn new vocabulary words, and practice your pronunciation.
