It’s like saying that 10% + 90% = 100% which is what our English learning formula is for understanding how to learn in English.

So, let’s talk about each of these three distinct parts of the English learning formula and how they work. That way you can use these to learn English quickly and efficiently.

The first thing you need to do is set a clear goal. This is the 10% of the English formula. You need a clear vision of what you are trying to accomplish by discovering how to learn in English.

It’s like taking a trip. If you want to take a vacation, you need to know where you’re headed. If you don’t have a destination, you’ll just wander around waste a lot of time.

How To Learn In English – Choose Your Destination

By choosing your final objective…you’ll know the quickest and most efficient way to get where you want to go.

Once you know what your goals are for how to learn in English…you just focus on hitting them. Then there is no guesswork involved.

Like your vacation you have to plan your vacation and then do what you need to do to get there.

  • you buy your passage
  • you pack your bags
  • check in and board the plane
  • enjoy the flight
  • get off the plane and pick up your bags
  • catch a taxi to your beach resort
  • changing into your bathing suit and hit the beach

It’s that’s simple when setting your English learning goals. You get to choose what your goals for how to learn in English are and how fast you hit them.

Most English students just do what they’re told. They study what their teacher tells them to, or what their friends study.

But if you know what your English learning goals are…then you can focus on developing the specific skills and abilities that you’ll need to reach them as fast as possible.

Once you know what your goals are for how to learn in English…you can focus on learning what you need to. You don’t have to study just like everyone else.

For example, if your goal is just to get basic knowledge of the language to talk with your friends…then you don’t have to study as long and as hard as the English student who wants to be a simultaneous interpreter.

So, depending on what your goals are how to learn in English…you can focus on developing the key skills and abilities that you need.

If your goal is to pass on a written test, then you don’t need to necessarily focus on developing speaking and listening skills. These are of course important to someone who wants to talk in English.

It’s important you to understand this, because you can determine what you goals are and focus on your hitting them successfully. Then you can plan the quickest and most efficient way to reach it.

By having clear goals…you define the intensity of your focus on that goal. If you studying intensely for eight hours per day…then you will learn a lot faster than by studying just fifteen minutes per day.

Once you have clear goals for how to learn in English, you’ll be clear about what you really want to accomplish. Then it’s just a simple matter of taking the necessary action to make that happen.

    hello respected sir i am very weak in english i’m doing a very small job in a company in abu dhabi but i remain quait most of the time because i cant speak and listen .i want to talk with everybody but i hv no words to talk lack of confidance to much i always use my free time in listening plzzz guide me

    • Hey Rukhsana Azam. Thanks for you comment. I understand how you feel. It’s frustrating to want to talk to people in a new language but not have the words to say them. Lack of confidence stops a lot of students. They are afraid of making a mistake or embarrased of what other people will think. It takes courage to use what you know in English. Start off by introducing yourself and using the words you do know. Then learn more words and phrases to use the next time. Like a snowball effect…your vocabulary will grow and your confidence will improve.
